Lactated Ringers

 Intravenous fluid used to replace water and electrolyte loss. Can also act as an alkalinizing agent, contains sodium chloride, sodium lactate, potassium chloride and calcium chloride. Race IV does not use this fluid when additives are given. Use cautiously if you have history of kidney stones.

Ascorbic Acid

     Commonly known as vitamin C, a water-soluble vitamin, which means our body does not store it and we have to obtain it through our nutrition. Its in a class called antioxidants and the body uses it to heal and enhance the absorption of iron from other sources. Ascorbic Acid also supports the immune system.

B3 - Niacin

A vitamin that is essential for your body to function properly.  It is thought to ease arthritis and boost brain function. It also helps maintain health of heart, blood vessels and metabolism. It also can decrease bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol.

Citrulline

     An amino acid that is made in the body and also found in watermelon.  It converts ammonia into urea allowing it to be excreted from the body in urine. It improves blood flood and is thought to have effects on specific hormones.

Manganese

 A trace mineral and coenzyme that assists enzymes in breaking down carbohydrates, proteins and cholesterol. Assists the body in forming connective tussue and bones.

Zinc Sulfate

     An esssential mineral for healthy body tissues and immune system function.

Normal Saline

​ Very commonly used intravenous crystalloid fluid. Containing 0.9% sodium chloride, it is a wonderful hydration solution and is the base for all of Race IV's solutions with additives

B1 - Thiamine

A vitamin that helps turn food into energy and keeps the nervous system healthy.

B5 - Pantothenic Acid

A water soluble vitamin that is essenntial to the manufacture of red blood cells and well as stress hormones in the adrenal glands

Copper

     A mineral found in the body that helps make red blood cells and keeps. nerve cells and immune system healthy. Can also act as an antioxidant reducing free radicals that damage cells.

Magnesium Chloride

     An inorganic compuound consisting of one magnesium and two chloride ions and is essential for cellular activities. Magneisum helps muscles relax and is thought that magnesium can reduce anxiety and abdominal fat.  Should be used cautiously for individuals with heart disease.

Arginine

An amino acid that helps the body build protein.  It is converted into nitric oxide in the body which helps dialate blood vessels to improve blood flow and stimulates the release of various hormones in the body.

B2 - Riboflavin

 A vitamin that helps the body convert food into fuel to produce energy.  It also helps the body metabolize fats and proteins.

B6 - Pyridoxine

A vitamin mportant for brain development and keeping the nervous and immune system healthy. It assists the body making neurotransmitters which are cemicals that carry signals from one nerve cell to another.  It helps the body make serotonin and norepineprhine that influnce mood and melatonin, assising in regulating the body clock.

Lysine

     An essential amino acid that is not made by the body and needs to be obtained from external sources.  Lysine can reduce inflamatory responses and may reduce anxiety by blocking stress response receptors

Proline

     An amino acid that aids in protein synthesis and structure. It aids in healing, antioxitive reactions and immune repsonses.
